Terms of Use
Effective 2026-08-06 · version 1
These are the terms for using Wordmi. By using the app you agree to them. They are written to be read rather than to be impressive.
1. The app
Wordmi is a vocabulary app: it defines words, keeps the ones you save, and shows you what your collection looks like over time. We license it to you for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or take it apart to build a competing product.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that account; if you lose it, we may not be able to recover your words for you. One person per account.
3. Your words are yours
The words you save, the tags you make and the notes you keep belong to you. We claim no ownership of them. You can export them at any time from Settings, and you can delete them and your account from the same place.
We store and process them only to run the app for you — see the Privacy Policy.
4. Wordmi Pro
Wordmi Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us.
If a subscription lapses, your words stay yours: nothing is deleted, and export keeps working. Pro features stop.
5. Definitions come from a model
Some definitions are generated by a language model rather than written by a lexicographer. They are usually good and are occasionally wrong. Do not rely on Wordmi for anything where being wrong matters — legal, medical, academic citation, or a crossword you have money on. Every definition has a "Report a problem" button and we do read those.
6. Fair use of the service
Do not attack the service, scrape it in bulk, use it to generate content at scale, or attempt to work around the Pro gate. We may suspend an account that does.
7. Availability
We try to keep the app and its server running, and we do not promise they always will be. Definition lookups need our server; the bundled dictionary works offline.
8. Ending it
You may stop using Wordmi at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may end your access if you breach these terms, and we will tell you why unless we are legally prevented.
9. The legal part
Wordmi is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA.
10. Changes
We will update these terms as the app changes, and the effective date at the top tells you which version you are reading. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
